How to tame frizz in your curly crown with a sweet home remedy
In this article, I would like to share a simple trick with you on how to tame frizz. Because anyone who is blessed with curls knows it only too well - the sometimes almost constant companion of every curly head of hair: frizz.
But would you have thought that you could tame frizz with a product you're guaranteed to always have at home - sugar?
Why sugar helps against frizz
Sugar helps to remove the cuticle layer of your Curls smoothing the hair, making it look more defined and less frizzy. And the best thing? You can easily and quickly mix your own anti-frizz mixture at home!
How to prepare the anti-frizz mixture:
- 4 tablespoons of your favorite conditioner
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
Mix both ingredients together well until the sugar has completely dissolved. This is important so that your curls don't become sticky later - after all, we want shiny, defined curls and not sticky strands.
How to use the sugar recipe:
Step 1: Wash your curls as usual
Start with your normal hair wash. It's best to use a sulphate-free shampoo (you know we like natural) to avoid drying out your curls.
Step 2: Apply the mixture
After you have thoroughly rinsed out the shampoo, apply the sugar mixture to your curls - preferably by gently combing it in with your fingers.
Step 3: Allow to take effect
Leave the mixture on for around 10 minutes. During this time, you can gently detangle your curls with your fingers or a wide-toothed comb.
Step 4: Rinse thoroughly
Rinse your Curls carefully with warm water. Make sure that no residue is left behind so that your curls remain light and fluffy.
Step 5: Style your curls as usual
Now you can add your Styling curlsthe way you like it best - with Leave-ingel or your current favorite products. Either leave your curls to air dry or use a Diffuser.
You will see: Your curls look much more defined, softer and the frizz has disappeared.
My tip: repeat once a week
To maintain the effect, you can use this sugar treatment once a week. Your curly mane will thank you.
