I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. In my country of birth, hair is straightened at a very early age, hair that is not straight is considered unkempt. So I also grew up with straight hair. Only many years later, far from my home country, I started to deal with my origin.
The birth of my first child was decisive for the radical step to natural curls. I want my children to see me for what I am, a Dominican with African Roots. Radical was the step for me, as I shaved my straightened hair completely off.
I wanted a fresh start without transition. I have never regretted this step; and love my curly mane. Of course I had to learn how to care for these natural curls, because I really had no idea about this new world and I had to open up to it. So I started to rediscover my hair.
In my youth I learned a lot about natural products for my skin, so it was clear to me that I also wanted to care for my curls naturally. I started to research what natural curls need, how to wash them and how to make them combable. The recipes that I convinced myself of, I will share with you here; and I would be happy if you would also share your favourite DIY Rezetpe with us curly heads
here.
On the page lockenkopf.ch you will find products from companies that I use myself and that, like me, attach great importance to purely organic ingredients and natural compatibility.
I am pleased to read about you,
Cordially
